movies?

This is quite a provoking article from RELEVANT magazine on why we love watching movies. Obviously the artistic medium discussed here is cinema, but I found several of the statements made in this article applicable to why I love art, photography, etc. Seeing reality through a different set of eyes. A set of eyes that transforms the mundane into something beautiful.

Anyway, just wanted to bookmark this article and share a quote from it by Paul Tillich.....“in the proximate, the daily, the apparently small, there is hidden in truth the metaphysical; the here-and-now is the place where meaning is disclosed, where our existence must find interpretation, if it can find an interpretation at all.”

yes, please.

this photo from a day that is dessert makes me very happy.

Love these watercolors from freelance japanese artist Mizue Hirano. I would love to have one of these hanging on my walls, but I don't think that is a possibility.

three.

3 things i want/borderline need to do... re-decorate my house, take more pictures, and maybe learn a thing or two about graphic design.

remember.

change.

with spring just around the corner, i'm itching for a change. not necessarily a big change. just something refreshing. i want to make some changes to my house. it's been the same for about a year and that's much too long for me. hopefully this will take place relatively soon. it seems i've recently taken to white rooms. i doubt i'll be painting any of my rooms white as my white bathroom floors already cause considerable frustration.
