something to think about: I discovered this week that I have certain opinions and views simply because I “claim” to have them. With only little consideration, I just assigned them to myself. How robotic. How disgusting. This week a found out about a situation and I was not pleased with my immediate reaction. However, this forced me to think critically about why I responded in a way that did not align with these views that I supposedly hold. Turns out I didn’t change my views, but I did gain some valuable insight as to why I initially chose them. This situation caused me to think about some very basic truths and from those I came to the conclusion that I still hold these views that I once carelessly and foolishly cast as mine. As I’m writing this a quote that my friend Amber once shared with me comes to mind. The situation presented to me this week didn’t concern following Christ directly, but nevertheless I find the quote applicable........

When you understand what Jesus means when He says that you must follow Him, you finally realize that this is not a cattle call. He is not calling you to the same life that everyone else will live. He's not even calling you to the same path that every follower of Christ will walk. Your life is unique before God, and your path is yours and yours alone. Where God will choose to lead you and how God chooses to use your life cannot be predicted by how God has worked in the lives of others before you.
